West Hampstead Sale of Homes

The area of North Western London preferably West Hampstead is now on the market for the selling of homes. Childs Hill and Frognal/Hampstead are the areas in which West Hampstead is centered. Childs Hill and Frognal are in the North East direction and are surrounded by a beautiful Swiss Cottage which is east as well. In the South West area one will find Kilburn near South Hampstead.

Before the year 1879, West Hampstead was previously named West End Lane. The Metropolitan Railway in 1879 saw that it was fit to name West End Lane the current name of West Hampstead. Reason being that the station stop of West Hampstead was located closely to the main road of West End Lane.

Many of the locals boast that West End Lane is a very popular area due to the fact that the atmosphere has a village style in which they enjoy because of the many bakeries, shops and cafes.

The convenience of smooth transportation is easy to come by because West Hampstead not only has its own station stop but also has two railway train stations named after it that of "West Hampstead" and "West Hampstead Thames Link Railway Station." The Metropolitan Railway station is also convenient since it is near Finchley Road. There are two other train stations to choose from such as "Silver Link" and "First Capital Connect". One can also choose flexible bus routes as well.

Rental properties and the sale of properties are on the increase for this area and buyers are able to view different styled homes such as Victorian homes, large family houses or stylish flats. There are many semi-detached brick homes along the West End Lane and Finchley Road areas to note and current developments of apartment complexes that are stylish can be observed. One will find that the population is that of professionals that are in their mid to late 20's and 30's.

Interestingly, West Hampstead is not considered as popular as its neighbor Hampstead however West Hampstead houses quite a few celebrities with the likes of Matt Lucas, Jim Carter, Stephen Frye and Emma Thompson. There have also been contestants from the popular show "The X Factor," taking residence here also.

Fancy boutiques line High Street in Hampstead and Primark in Kilburn (a popular shop) will be of interest to those who wish to enjoy one of the many shops available in West Hampstead. A wonderful bookstore awaits those who enjoy a good read on West End Lane and there are also charity shops with great bargains to choose from that include Scope, Oxfam and Cancer, Research, UK.

Nightclubs such as the "Lower Ground Bar," can be found and an old school nightclub located on West End Lane. Wine bars and cafes such as Nandos on the streets of West End Lane/West Hampstead are also accessible.

Other nightclub hot spots include The Gallery, Czech Bar or Ye Old Black Lion. Cinemas are also in the area and are "The 02 Cinema" on Finchley Road or "Screen on the Hill" a bit further travel to Belsize Park.
