Wimbledon has a traditional portfolio of homes ranging from modern style flats to Georgian and Victorian style villas. You may also be lucky enough to find the occasional premium size mansion around the common, which demand high prices in this area. The common stretches to Putney Vale and with a village at the centre; it is a prestigious and sought after location.

Wimbledon can be split into two separate sectors, the village, which has traditional boutique shops and Town Broadway, with a more commercial feel. Within Town Broadway, you will find plenty of entertainment including the theatre, cinema, bars and caf'es plus a shopping centre, offices and links across the south of London via tram.

Homes in Wimbledon Town cost from approximately GBP 250k, this works out as an average of GBP 400 to GBP 500 per square foot. Homes in the village can cost more than double this amount, equalling properties in areas of central London such as Marylebone.

For a short commute to central London, the reward will be more space for your money. Wimbledon is 20 minutes on the Tube to High Street Kensington and approximately 17 minutes to Waterloo via the train. Enjoy the "country air" without the expensive property prices of locations such as Chelsea.

With a rise in homes split into flats being renovated back to a family property there is an increase in projects where outdated properties are redesigned on the same area of land. These reverse conversions are slowly getting rid of ugly and unpopular houses in place of a more desirable property.

The pre-tennis launch of two larger projects has proved special. This is down to the fact that new homes are either rare, one off or infill schemes.

For a mix of both contemporary and traditional styles, Wimbledon Hill Park is a new development, formerly known as the Atkinson Morley Hospital. Now home to 94 properties in a walled estate and 25 acres of grounds, eight executive homes offering roof terraces and large spaces for entertaining are to be unveiled this weekend. The next phase will be 26 apartments located in the restored hospital.

Within prime location, close to Wimbledon's highly rated schools, Wimbledon Village overlooks King's College School on the foundations of a former convent. This will be London Square's debut development with architecture based around traditional garden squares. With a prestigious collection of ten properties all individually designed, this is a highly sought out address in the area.

Marryat Place, six semi-detached homes, all with off street parking for one vehicle and located close to the All England Tennis Club. Located by Wimbledon Parkside is 10 apartments known as Fairlawns, a conversion from a listed mansion.

Lampton House in Wimbledon is a refurbished Edwardian mansion. It has a large half-acre plot of land that includes a glazed atrium in a sunken garden room.

For an address with a presence, Chorus is a development of 60 homes of mixed use. Compromising of shops, shared ownership properties and office locations, it is set at the end of the Broadway.
